Meet the staff members at Arise

Drew Ensz - Ministry Director

Drew (He/Him) grew up around the Baltimore area and graduated from Virginia Tech in 2006 with a major in Sociology and a minor in Religious Studies. He attended Eastern Mennonite Seminary and graduated in 2014. He has worked in ministry since 2007 including student ministry, local church ministry, and since 2016 campus ministry. In 2009 he met his lovely wife, Catie on eHarmony (still waiting for that call to do a commercial). They have four children. Drew enjoys hanging out with people, learning people’s stories, and forming authentic, Christ-centered relationships. 

Alison Murphy - Marketing and social media coordinator

Alison (she/her)  is a first year student at  Wesley Theological Seminary working towards her Master of Divinity.  She has always  has a passion for photography, social media, curriculum development, and community building.  Alison is excited to be joining the media team at Arise. In her free time Alison can be found either traveling,  studying, or spoiling her cat Salem.

Kyle Mcclain - WOrship Leader

Kyle McClain (He/Him) came to Arise from the great state of Ohio, where he majored in Political Science and moved out to DC shortly after. He is the campus worship leader and provides the students with a safe space to come and enjoy music. He loves all things music related and helping students find their passion relating to music. In his free time, you can find him umpiring softball, playing video games, or bowling.

Rue tapp - Campus Coordinator

Rue (She/They) is a Northern Virginia native who brings deep care, a creative spirit, and sacred curiosity to her work in ministry. She is passionate about cultivating spaces of belonging, where students of all identities and backgrounds can be in community together to practice and explore their faith, creativity, play, and purpose. 

Her background is in education, creative direction, family ministry, community organizing and care, and spiritual formation. Rue centers her work on the transformative power of relationships, rest, and radical love.

She sees ministry as an act of sacred world-building and participates in the holy work of co-creating God’s kingdom here on earth. Through acts of hospitality, liberation, and imagination, she invites others into a vision of the world rooted in love, equity, and collective flourishing

When she’s not planning soulful gatherings or sharing tea and a funny story, you can find Rue outside checking out bugs, tending her tea garden, writing her future best seller, or making art. She lives with her beloved tuxedo cat/son, Louis. When Rue grows up she wants to be an ice cream truck driver. 

margaret Kondracki - Admin

Margaret (She/Her) has worked  as an Administrative Assistant in  the ministry world for 9 years now. She is  excited to bring her  experience and skills to Arise Campus Ministry. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family and traveling the world.
